Problem Validation Survey
Quantitatively validate your assumption-based problem statement(s). This survey will help prioritize the problems to be solved and determine whether they are worth solving. It can also help select target audiences and specify the context of the problem while also potentially identifying early adopters.

Steps
The problem validation survey follows an explorative research phase. You should already have defined the problem context, current behaviour, target user and formulated 1-3 problem statement(s) using the problem statement canvas as a guide.
Set up a survey (typically n=300 per language/region) and translate every element of the problem statement (who, what, where, when, how) into a set of survey questions to determine: the goal in context, current alternatives to reaching that goal, the satisfaction with these alternatives, and the target audience. Example questions and templates can be found here.
Analyse the results.
The results will help determine the relative opportunity potential of the propositions towards each group that can be visualized in an “opportunity framework” graph.
