Steps

  1. Put the big user activities of the product at the top, using time as a guideline from left to right

  2. Divide the big activities into individual user tasks that are needed

  3. Start filling out each task with individual sub-tasks or features

  4. Decide which features should go in your first release by drawing horizontal lines and putting sub-tasks above that line

  5. Optionally create additional releases with the remaining sub-tasks
